Sh*t Android users say

I like Android but I really like this video. It demonstrates in an entertainingly annoying way every annoying statement uber die hard Android users say or post on the Internet.

HTC One aka M7, The One

Just when many thought Xperia Z is already the best looking smartphone of 2013...

The HTC One / M7 certainly looks impressive. The display is gorgeous. The homescreen is the best I've seen in a flagship. It looks attractive and functional. This really deserves to be called "The One."

I'm glad they didn't do the same edge-to-edge glass paneling they did with the HTC Butterfly / Droid DNA. That design made it easier to crack the screen even with a short fall to the pavement. The device is quite thick at 9+ mm. Here's hoping for a battery larger than 2500 mah.

The display looks like it's just printed on the panel. Excellent viewing angles. Sony, this is how you should do your displays. I have nothing against not so good viewing angles but if you want to create a premium look and charge a premium price, you need something as gorgeous looking as this thing here.

Hands-on video below.

Dramatically funny doggie

As if acting on cue, this dog responds to his human by nimbly changing his expression.

Our Russel Terrier mix can do something similar but not as quickly.

Dogs hardly fail to amaze.

The Xperia ZL Ad

This promo video for the Sony Xperia ZL is awkward. It's like a subtle way of criticizing its own larger sibling, the Xperia Z.

Here's the text of the ad:

The Sony design team has put their expertise into every corner, piece, and pixel of the Xperia ZL.
Introducing Omnibalance Design....
Symmetry in all directions.
Subtle, rounded edges and a natural hand-fit curvature.
The phone is precision engineered for a great viewing experience.
We took away all the UNNECESSARY hardware bits and optimized components and design to allow the brilliantly bright 5" screen to take center stage.
Spectacularly beautiful.
An advanced smartphone technology yet so compact it fits in your pocket.
Xperia ZL.
Experience the best of Sony in a Smartphone.

So the Xperia Z has unnecessary components? The ad implies that the ZL is better because it got rid off the unneeded parts found in the device being primarily marketed by Sony Mobile as their 2013 flagship. Sony needs to hire better writers for their promo materials, I guess.

This ISS time lapse video of Planet Earth is out-of-this-world!

It's not difficult getting fascinated with photos and videos of space or views of our planet as seen from space. The video posted below, however, is simply a standout.

Watch and be amazed.

The amazing supermoon...walking

We've experienced supermoon some weeks ago. Now, here comes another amazing "phenomenon."

A 21-second YouTube video was posted July 5 featuring a top naked guy, a wet street, and an amazing performance comparable to supermoon awesomeness.

Watch how the guy performs a camera-trick-like version of the famous move commonly associated with Michael Jackson. He certainly deserves an advertising deal with some leading shoe brand.

The Evolution and Possible Future of Television

It all started with the lowly monochrome television that did its part well. Until now, its shape or form continues to be a recognizable icon for television.

Then came the color CRT's. The addition of color was a breakthrough. More colorful shows meant more enjoyment. More enjoyment inspired the spark (or may have been the spark itself) couch potato culture.

To address the need desire for bigger screens, the rear projection TV's came to being. CRTs couldn't efficiently be any bigger so new technologies were sought. The couch potatoes rejoiced.

After the desire for bigger screens was somewhat satisfied, a new "want" emerged: more vivid and higher resolution screens. The plasma TV's came out as some of the immediate answers.

As power prices rose and frequency of TV use increased, the need for technologies that could lead to lower TV power consumption was spotlighted. So came the LCD and LED TV's. By this time, the growing trend of 16:9 screens has slowly but surely displaced the 4:3 screen aspect ratio as the standard.

But people still wanted something fancy. So here comes 3D television. Doesn't make that much sense but surely piques consumer curiosities and interests.
But wants and new trends prove to be infinite. With the popularity of the Internet becoming too overwhelming to ignore, TV makers apparently saw the need to adapt and innovate. Comes the smart TV's or Internet-enabled TVs made smarter with the addition of components that traditionally resided only in computing devices.

So what's in store for the future? Click here to read more.

That awkward "same outfit moment" ...What to do‽

Which is worse? Turning up at some party wearing an outfit similar to somebody else's or sporting a frock with a color or pattern very much resembling the party venue's curtains or table linen? It's certainly disastrous either way but such awkwardness happens occasionally. It even happens to celebrities and high profile personalities.

So...
What to do?

One of the most effective solutions can be as simple as laughter.  That awkward  moment is certainly funny. What better way to deal with it than to burst into a hearty laugh.

It happens among males, too. And it couldn't get more awkward than sitting right beside each other wearing highly conspicuous pink tops. Laughter can do the trick though pretending to be oblivious of the situation or other people's reactions may also work.

But sometimes, acknowledging it and posing for a truly memorable photo can be more effective.

If you're filthy rich, you don't really easily get bothered with it. Ask  Jaime King and Nicky Hilton. You can always try acting and projecting like a socialite.

However, if you're somebody famous and you happen to be seated on the same row in a FASHION EVENT, you can be subtly cattily fierce by showing that you can wear the outfit way better. Highlight the curves. Show them long legs....if you have them.

Lastly, go beyond simple laughter. Act like you know the other person  so well and make everybody believe that  there's no awkwardness to deal with. It's a fashionista nightmare but you don't necessarily have to despair and leave. You can even use it to be in the news and add more life to the party.

Animals that don't look like their true selves

Is mankind sure it was a real serpent Adam and Eve saw when they were tempted have a bite of the forbidden fruit?
The picture above definitely shows NOT a snake.
It\'s actually a caterpillar!

Master mimicker, the mimic octopus.

Spiders that look like ants.

Caterpillars disguising as snakes.

3D Newspaper

One of the Philippines's top dailies introduces to the Filipino readership its edition of 3D newspapers.
Check the maiden issue's online version out here.

Indeed a fun and fancy way to present the news. Not something impressive though. Who likes reading their papers with those red-blue spectacles? Wonder if the idea sells. Wonder if loyal patrons of traditional print media even get excited with this development.

Racism from unlikely sources: the Mayweathers

They who appear as living evidences of the earlier stages of human evolution should by themselves realize that nobody has the right to spew racist and disdainful invectives unto anyone.

Something to make you tremendously mad‽

I do believe in fairies. I do believe in witches, too.
And this witch right here...this witch right here...
is probably going to be a force most capable of uniting America or even the entire Christian world.
